The short version: We use a handful of cookies to keep the site running and (with your consent) to understand aggregate usage. We set no advertising or tracking cookies and share nothing with ad networks.
1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device when you visit. They allow the site to remember information about your visit — for example, whether you've confirmed you're 18 or what your cookie preferences are. Cookies cannot run programs or deliver viruses to your computer.
2. Cookie Categories We Use
We divide cookies into three categories:
| Category | Purpose | Consent required? |
|---|---|---|
| Essential | Required for the site to function correctly. Includes age gate confirmation and cookie-consent preference storage. | No — always active |
| Analytics | Helps us understand how visitors use the site in aggregate — pages visited, session length, device type. No individual profiling. | Yes — opt-in via banner |
| Preferences | Remembers optional display settings you may configure (e.g. roster filter state). Functional quality-of-life only. | Yes — opt-in via banner |
3. Essential Cookies — Full List
| Cookie name | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
__age_v1 | Records that the user has confirmed they are 18 or older via the age gate. Prevents the gate re-appearing on each page load. | 365 days |
__cc_v1 | Stores your cookie consent preferences (which categories you have accepted or declined). | 365 days |
__session | Session management cookie — keeps your roster state during a single browsing session. Expires when you close the tab. | Session |
4. Analytics Cookies (consent required)
If you accept analytics cookies via the consent banner, we may use a privacy-first analytics tool that measures aggregate traffic patterns without building individual user profiles. No full IP addresses are stored. No cross-site tracking occurs. You can withdraw consent at any time by revisiting the cookie banner (link in the footer) or clearing cookies in your browser.
5. Advertising Cookies
We do not use advertising cookies. We do not share data with advertising networks. QuestMingle contains no paid advertising placements.
6. Managing Cookies in Your Browser
You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings. Here are links to instructions for common browsers:
- Google Chrome: Settings → Privacy and Security → Cookies and other site data
- Mozilla Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
- Apple Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data
- Microsoft Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions
Please note that blocking essential cookies may prevent the site from functioning correctly, including the age gate and roster simulator.
7. Do Not Track (DNT) and Global Privacy Control (GPC)
We respect Do Not Track signals. If your browser sends a DNT:1 header or a Global Privacy Control signal, we will not activate analytics cookies even if you have previously consented. Essential cookies remain active as they are required for site function.
8. Third-Party Cookies
We load fonts from Google Fonts over a CDN. Google Fonts, when loaded via their API, may set or read cookies according to Google's own privacy policies. We use only the font delivery service — we do not use Google Analytics, Google Ads, or any other Google tracking product. For information about Google's cookie practices, refer to policies.google.com/privacy.
9. Updates to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy when we change the cookies we use. The "last updated" date at the top of the page will reflect any changes.
